London’s River Bus is launching a brand-new ticket designed for families and tourists setting out to explore London by river this summer. Uber Boat by Thames Clippers will now offer a ticket entitling holders to two days of unlimited river travel. 

Available to book online only, an adult Hop-on Hop-off ticket for two days costs £36.90, while a family Hop-on Hop-off that allows for two adults and up to three children (U-15s) to travel together costs £73.80 – effectively providing free travel for kids under 15. One day versions will be available for both the adult and family Hop-on Hop-off tickets, with 7-day advance purchase tickets starting at £18.50 and £37 respectively. Discounted concession tickets are also available. 

To coincide with this launch, Uber Boat by Thames Clippers will also be introducing their digital River Guide, which will help river explorers find their way to the very best riverside attractions London has to offer. The free map will be available at www.thamesclippers.com/riverguide

To help passengers plan their journey, the attractions are split between categories: landmarks, food & drink, entertainment, arts & culture and shopping. As well as London’s internationally famous highlights such as the Houses of Parliament and Greenwich Palace, the map will also feature hidden gems, meaning Londoners themselves could discover their new favourite riverside spot. Places ready to be explored include:

  • For landmark hunters, the map points the way to attractions within walking distance including:
      1. The mighty Cutty Sark, is just a two-minute walk from Greenwich Pier
      2. The moving Battle of Britain Monument, two minutes from Westminster Pier
      3. London’s Monument to the 1666 Great Fire, ten minutes from Tower Pier
      4. And of course The London Eye, a matter of metres from London Eye (Waterloo) Pier!
  • For those hunting out a spot of lunch, the food & drink category highlights:

Uber Boat by Thames Clippers services run seven days a week from Putney in the West to Barking Riverside in the East, from early morning until late in the evening, allowing for a jam-packed day spent travelling the length of the river. 

Passengers travelling with Uber Boat by Thames Clippers will be able to make use of the onboard and fully licensed café bar, plentiful comfortable seating and outdoor back deck. Large windows guarantee unique views of London’s famous riverside banks, and most boats and piers are accessible. An added bonus and highly unusual amongst London’s public transport, the boats have toilets on board, with the majority also having baby changing facilities.
