London’s River Bus is set to host its first ever Friday night comedy sailings. Travelling through the city on Friday 4th October and Friday 8th November, floating gig goers will see a line-up of three comedians, while taking in the iconic London sights and enjoying a drink from the onboard bar. The line-ups will include two BAFTA nominees, a Taskmaster winner, a Mock the Week and QI panellist and a record-breaking adventurer who once paddled a paper boat along the Thames. Setting sail from Embankment pier at 6:30pm, the comedy sailings will take guests past London landmarks including Battersea Power Station, Houses of Parliament, Tate Modern and Tower Bridge. After an evening filled with jokes and jests, the boat will return to Embankment Pier for guests to disembark at 8:40pm.

On board, comedy fans can enjoy the Uber Boat by Thames Clippers’ licensed café bar, serving soft and alcoholic drinks, as well as snacks. Meanwhile, large windows and comfortable seating ensure perfect surroundings for big belly laughter, while the open back deck will be available for a break between sets. 

The 4th October comedy sailing line-up:

  • Ben Norris: Described as ‘A master of the craft’ by GQ Magazine, Ben has been a professional comedian since 1993 and has made appearances on Mock the Week and QI among others.  
  • Sarah Kendall: A Best Actress BAFTA nominee, Sarah also won series 11 of Channel 4’s Taskmaster. The Observer described her as ‘thoughtful, intelligent, subtle, enlightening and really funny.’
  • Tim FitzHigham: A multi-award-winning stand-up comedian, professional explorer and television presenter, Tim also once raised over £10,000 for Comic Relief and smashed a 383-year-old record to become the first man in history to take a paper boat 160 miles down the River Thames.

The 8th November comedy sailing line-up:

  • Mike Gunn: Mike has been hailed as ‘one of the 10 leading stand-ups in Britain’ by the Independent on Sunday, with The Guardian commenting that this former funeral director “Will make you die laughing’.
  • Jimmy McGhie: Jimmy has been a professional stand-up comedian for over 15 years. He's performed on television and has toured 10 solo shows at festivals around the world including the Edinburgh Fringe.
  • Michael Legge: A BAFTA nominee, Sony Award winner and MTV show host.  Time Out said that Michael is Often copied, never matched’.
